Program Details
This course is a result of the mutual collaboration of the Research Center Media and Journalism (CIMJ) - New University of Lisbon and Media XXI international publisher, research and consulting agency. The absence of audiovisual management courses in the present educational curricula is one of the main reasons that prompted the organizers of this course to offer additional program in the management of audiovisual industry.

The course comprises both conventional classroom teaching and online classes. The attendance is mandatory for all the participants.
The main goal of the course is to give a wide and integrated training in the area of managing audiovisual, film and multimedia companies, with a special focus on the financial dynamics, in marketing and distribution of audiovisual and film production. The course is also intended to foster participants’ organizational effectiveness in the audiovisual and film production through development of scheduled activities that include planning and strategy skills as well as an efficient usage of case studies and the subsequent development of a final work.

Besides the educational perspective, the course also offers to participants an applied and hands-on corporate experience and knowledge in the audiovisual and film business. In addition, the aim of the course is to explain and point out present and future economic, creative, production and distribution tendencies in the field of audiovisual and film industry. These course objectives will be achieved through the partnerships with established corporate practitioners and university professors. Particular attention will be paid to the professionals and staff from Ibero and Latin – American universities and corporations.

Apart from offering a conventional management course, we want to provide an integrated and innovative perspective of the audiovisual industry by analyzing the main needs, challenges and trends of this expanding global sector.
